FIFPRO, together with FIFA, announced the 2020/2021 FIFA FIFPRO Women's World 11 this Monday. Below, we present some interesting facts and figures about this special team.
  • This is the sixth Women’s World 11. FIFPRO launched the award in 2015. It has been part of FIFA’s annual player awards since 2019.
  • A total of 3,675 women footballers playing at the highest level in 46 countries voted.
  • They picked the three players who in their opinion where the most outstanding players during the 2020/2021 season in the following positions: goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders and forwards.
  • The goalkeeper, the three defenders, three midfielders and three forwards who received the most votes were selected for the World 11. The remaining spot was assigned to the outfield player with the next highest number of votes.
  • FIFPRO received most votes from Japan, followed by Mexico and Portugal.
  • Wendie Renard is making her sixth appearance in the World 11. The French defender of Olympique Lyonnais is the only player who has been selected for all six World 11s.
  • Lucy Bronze, Marta and Alex Morgan are second on the list with 4 awards each. 
  • Estefania Banini and Magdalena Eriksson are the two debutants on the World 11. Banini is the first women player from Argentina to be picked for the World 11. Eriksson is the third Swedish player after Nilla Fischer and Hedvig Lindahl.
  • Lucy Bronze is the player who received the most votes of all women players, as 1,636 players picked her. Christiane Endler was second with 1,424 votes. Last year, Bronze and Endler were also the two most selected players.
  • The 2019/2020 FIFA FIFPRO Women’s World 11 included Christiane Endler, Millie Bright, Lucy Bronze, Wendie Renard, Barbara Bonansea, Veronica Boquete, Delphine Cascarino, Pernille Harder, Tobin Heath, Vivianne Miedema and Megan Rapinoe.
